A Letter from James Aiello

Please, I need you help! This is James Aiello, author of Forbidden Child....

Recently, I attended the West Palm Beach Book Festival wherein I had the opportunity to meet and listen to well-known, successful authors. I especially enjoyed the last event of the day which was a panel moderated by Joe Klein, author and political writer for TIME. On the panel was Ms. Lisa Sharkey, Senior Vice President of Harper Collins Publishers Worldwide. In the audience were first time authors who were anxious to have her answer their questions on how to have their writings marketable.  I asked the last question of the day which stated: I have produced my own novel and have sold almost 4,000 copies. How many copies does one have to sell before the author is recognized by the critics and the publishing houses? She responded by congratulating me, but stated when sales reach the ten-thousand mark; then, the author will indeed by recognized.  For all of you out there who have supported me with the purchase of my novel, I thank you f rom the bottom of my heart. For those who have not,  won’t you please help me reach my goal with that magic number?  The response from those who have read my novel is overwhelming, and I can’t begin to tell you what it means to me. And for those who have not read it, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.  I have received recognition from five international and national book festivals, and traveled from Florida to L.A. to N.Y. C. stopping along the way to meet and greet many of my readers at many local book clubs, but all this work has not yielded the required sales....won’t you please help a struggling writer fulfill his dream?

Many of you have asked when the sequel will be written. I am happy to report it has been written and in the process of the final edit. I just know that you will be excited  with the continued adventures of Christina Powers. Also, on Saturday and Sunday May 16th and 17th, I will be selling and signing copies of Forbidden Child at the South Carolina Book Festival at  Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center - 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia, South Carolina. I would be delighted if you would stop to meet with me and pick up a personal signed copy.

Hi to all my family and friends. Well, Forbidden Child placed fourth honorable mention on the list at the Hollywood Book Festival and I have been invited to Hollywood CA to attend the celebration banquet! OMG, I am so excited and nervous! I have been asked to speak at the banquet and Forbidden Child will be show cased to most of Hollywood's elite movie directors. This is a dream come true for me and I want to say thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported me through this very long process. I can only hope that something wonderful will happen and Forbidden Child will be picked up for a future movie. After a lot of prayer and meditation I have decided that I will get to Hollywood for this event even if I have to walk. Well please continue to keep me in your prayers and thoughts. I will take a lot of pictures and let everyone know how I make out.
